The Summary Only is basically statistical information about the messages that cross the server. This view will show you the number of messages that match your search criteria, the total bytes of the matching messages, and the average size (in bytes) of the matching messages.
The Detail and Summary view shows all of the summary information as well as specific information about the messages that match the search criteria. The detail view displays the sender, recipient, subject, date/time, and size of all of the matched messages.
The search terms are also displayed at the top of the page. In this example the search was for all messages To and From domain3.com from 1/1/2001 to 1/10/2001.
