Dialup Connection

The default dedicated connection type means that SLmail dialup connection to the Internet. SLmail routes all outgoing mail through a Smarthost and all incoming mail is queued on the Smarthost to be sent to SLmail when it is connected. SLmail also controls all aspects of the dialup connection so there is also a modem and Dialup Networking connection setup on the SLmail machine.

Options Page

Disable Smarthost is not checked.

Disable MX lookup is checked.

System Page

A valid relay mail server is specified in the Smarthost field.

The Name Server field contains "DNS."

Connection Method Page

Connection Method is set for Dialup Connection.

Use RAS Dialup is selected.

RAS Dialup Options Page

A functioning Windows NT RAS connection is selected.

The proper username and passwords are entered.

Connection Duration is set to a value lower than specified in the Connection Time field.
